2. Answer each question truthfully
3. Tag 3 or more people after completing this tag
1.) What's the name of your character?
Taylor Ruse
2.) Tell us about your character.
(I apologize if it all sounds choppy, but I'm a bit iffy about releasing most of this information. :c)
Taylor is twenty-two at the current moment, although she could pass for a teenager. She's not super tall, but she isn't too short either. She lived in Chicago for her entire life, at least until Bob came along. As of the end of Transcendence, she will be living...I'll keep the suspense for y'all. Her childhood was as every normal kid's should be, with a minor exception. Back when she was three, a hydroglistic bacteria worked its way into her immune system, causing it to weaken terribly. This affected her ability to walk, and she was rushed to the hospital. The doctors were not expecting her to survive that night.
Fortunately, she did. After that, she reserved herself from the other schoolchildren, wearing long-sleeved shirts and skirts to keep herself protected. The other kids often made fun of her weird appearance...at least until Jenna came along. Jenna was and is Taylor's best friend. It was thanks to her that Taylor was able to emerge from her shell, and become who she is today. The two remained friends for a long time, even up through high school. It was there that Taylor first met David, her one true love. The two of them maintained a very steady relationship, up to their first two years in college.
On one very unfortunate May 18th, in the year 2009, Taylor made the mistake of her life, marking a HUGE turning point. It was her birthday...and it was also the date of Dave's murder. Thanks to an accidental slip, Taylor ended up stabbing Dave, watching him die before the paramedics could even make it to the restaurant. She was sentenced to life in prison, without any possibility of parole. Three months later, as luck would have it, a certain gay unicorn was banished from his home, and ended up finding himself in Chicago. He strayed across Taylor's path, and the two befriended each other. Eventually, Bob got her out of jail, and they went on the run, as Taylor was now considered a fugitive.
I'm going to stop there, in order to save the rest for the novel.
Taylor's got auburn colored hair, and brown eyes, if I was to ever draw her eyes realistically. She's almost always got some sort of active clothing on, clothing that she can easily run around in. She's quite skilled with her dagger and pistol. Her downfall is her OCD, due to the events from the past. It clashes greatly with her often bloody job. Taylor also has tendencies to be a little cynical and jaded, not to mention having a very spitfire personality.
3.) How did you make your character up?
After creating Bob, I wanted to have another SuperJail! character, and I wanted them to be a human. So, I began working on a character, and she soon became Taylor. Her last name is a reflection of who she is. "Ruse" is defined as an action or plan intended to deceive someone. And she can deceive pretty well. After lots of character development, she is who she is today. c:
4.) Is it easy drawing your character?
I would say yes, unless I've hit an art block.
5.) When did you make your character up?
Three or four years ago?
6.) What inspiration(s) brought your character to life?'
SuperJail.
7.) Is your character dear to you? If so, how come?
She is quite dear to me. In some ways, I feel like I can really connect with this character. This is why I often get a little sad when I see that Bob is much more popular than Taylor. In the beginning, Bob was intended to be a total joke, a mount for the Warden. I guess that's what gave him his popularity.
But Taylor is really the first character I've put mounds of effort into, and yet, she ranks below a gay unicorn who initially had no character development behind him. But now that both of them actually have defined histories and personalities, I do hope that she will be equally liked along with Bob. While she doesn't have Bob's amusing mannerisms and accent, she's funny in her own way.
I just wish people would see that.
8.) If you were forced to compare your character to another, who would you compare him/her/it to?
Eeeee. I don't really know who I could compare her to...
9.) Is your character related to you in any way? Personality? Problems? Traits?
Perhaps a few of my own personality traits, but that's about it.
10.) If your character came to life, what would you do?
Run. She'd kill me for the prison time, the scars, and everything else. XD
11.) Is your character a hero or a villain? How do you see them as?
She is an unsung hero.
12.) If your character a part of any particular story you made up?
Transcendence. She is the main character of this novel.
13.) What song/movie/book/play do you think of when you imagine your character?
On My Own, by Hedley.
14.) Would your character play well if him/her/it had his/her/its own book or film?
I assume so.
15.) Make up your own question.
Name one scar your character has, and tell us where it came from. If they don't have any, is there a reason?
Taylor has a few scars, but they remain hidden from what can be seen. Under her shirt, she has a stab wound on her left lumbar region, which is to the left from her belly button. This resulted from a somewhat failed killing as an assassin, where the victim had fought back with a knife of his own. Bob had to finish him off for her. Another knife wound is scratched across her back, in a crooked line, starting from her shoulder blades to the middle of her back.
Another scar can be found on her neck. Her hair covers it well, and it's rather small, for the amount of bleeding it had. The cause of this scar was from a particularly bad fall, where she happened to cut herself against some broken glass.
